Position Summary

The Senior Captain is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft. Serving as the pilot-in-command, the Senior Captain holds final authority regarding flight operations, ensuring full compliance with federal aviation regulations, applicable foreign regulations, and company policies. The role requires a strong focus on safety, professionalism, and effective communication with passengers, executives, and crew members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as pilot-in-command, maintaining responsibility for airworthiness, passenger safety, and all phases of flight.
  • Plan and execute international flight operations while maintaining required training and proficiency.
  • Develop and maintain mastery of aircraft systems and emergency, survival, and medical equipment.
  • Make operational decisions regarding flight starts, delays, cancellations, or route deviations.
  • Collaborate with crew members to ensure effective communication and information sharing.
  • Monitor crew performance and delegate duties to ensure efficient operations.
  • Advise leadership on flight operations and provide mentorship to less-experienced crew members.
  • Maintain flight manuals, navigation charts, and required flight documentation.
  • Conduct post-flight activities, including aircraft storage, protection, cleaning, and restocking.
  • Uphold safety and security standards both in-flight and while away from the home base.

Qualifications

  • Certifications: Valid FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate - Airplane Multiengine Land; Valid FAA medical certificate.
  • Experience: Previous flight experience in a corporate aviation department required; extensive experience in international operations required.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; educational or training background in an aviation-related field desired.
  • Preferred Skills: Type rating and pilot-in-command experience in company-operated aircraft; experience in flight instruction or teaching.
