DESCRIPTION

Air Traffic Controller / Simulation Pilot:

ATEC is looking for Air Traffic Controllers to support the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Simulation pilot support services contract which include human and controller-in-the-loop real-time Aircraft Simulator Pilot and Air Traffic Control (ATC) simulation operations at the FAA's William J. Hughes Technical Center Target Generation Facility (TGF).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • During air traffic simulations, candidates will interact with ATC, responding to the ATC clearances issued by the controllers, and controlling the movements of the simulated aircraft.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

Required:

  • ATC Specialist Contractor staff providing Level 4 simulation pilot services must have possession of Instrument Flight Rules (IFR)/Commercial pilot rating.
  • ATC Specialist Contractor staff providing Level 5 simulation pilot services must have at least two (2) years of TGF simulation pilot software experience or similar computer-based simulation pilot software experience.
  • ATC Specialist Contractor staff providing Level 6 simulation pilot services must be proficient in the use of computers and will be required to operate TGF Simulation Pilot Workstation keyboard entries

EDUCATION/YEARS of EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidate must have active, full performance level (FPL) ATC experience in any of the following: Terminal, Enroute, Oceanic, Traffic Flow Management, or Flight Service Station.
    • Air Traffic Control (ATC) Specialist - Level 6 requires upto two (2) years related experience
    • Air Traffic Control (ATC) Specialist - Level 5 requires a minimum of two (2) years related experience
    • Air Traffic Control (ATC) Specialist - Level 4 requires a minimum of six (6) years related experience

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government investigation
  • Has been living in the US for at least the past 3 years

WORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULE:

  • Reporting onsite to the William J. Hughes Technical Center in Pomona, NJ
  • Part-Time, approximately 5-20 hours per week

PAY RANGE:

  • Contingent upon number of years of experience
