Role Overview:
The Pilot will provide rotary wing operational support for the US Embassy in Iraq, operating under an 80/40 rotation schedule. Responsibilities include conducting both single and multi-ship missions, day and night, including Night Vision Goggle (NVG) operations primarily under Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC).
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute safe and efficient single and multi-ship rotary wing flights, adhering to all INL/A Program Directives (PDs), Aircrew Training Manuals (ATMs), and ATP requirements.
- Maintain currency in NVG operations and instrument proficiency.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections, ensuring aircraft airworthiness and addressing any discrepancies per the MEL.
- Manage aircraft weight and balance, ensuring proper cargo and passenger loading, distribution, and security.
- Prepare all necessary flight documentation, including the flight maintenance log, load manifest, discrepancy record form, flight plans, and flight and duty time records.
- Supervise crew members and conduct passenger briefings prior to takeoff.
- Delegate tasks while maintaining overall responsibility for mission success.
- Perform occasional CONUS travel as required.
- Execute other aviation duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- FAA Commercial and Instrument Airman Certificate (Rotorcraft Helicopter).
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Host nation language proficiency (per contract requirement).
- 1,500 total rotary wing flight hours, including 500 hours of turbine engine time.
- NVG qualified with 300 hours of NVG experience.
- Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience with UH-60 A/L/M, SH-60 Series, MH-60 series, or HH-60 series aircraft.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive physical screening.
- Valid passport with at least 18 months of validity remaining.
- US Secret Security Clearance required.
