About the Role:
AAR's Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program is seeking an accomplished and dedicated H-60 Instructor Pilot to join its team in Iraq. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a global operation that provides world-class aviation solutions to the US Department of State Air Wing.
The selected candidate will play a critical role in managing, supervising, and directing the training of rotary wing crew members. This will include conducting academic and flight training, administering evaluations, and ensuring crew member proficiency and standardization across all training initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver comprehensive training programs, encompassing both classroom instruction and in-flight training, for rotary wing crew members.
- Conduct rigorous evaluations to assess crew member proficiency and ensure compliance with stringent aviation standards.
- Provide expert training and qualification on both single and multi-ship missions, encompassing day, night, and Night Vision Goggle (NVG) operations, primarily under Visual Meteorological Conditions.
- Develop customized individual flight training plans tailored to support the organization's mission and the Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certification process.
- Actively participate in the selection and training of new WASS Program crew members.
- Ensure meticulous adherence to WASS Standardization, Maintenance, Training, and Safety standards across all training operations, activities, and actions.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate flight records, diligently track Air Wing Information System (AWIS) data, and manage relevant reports, publications, and references.
- Maintain a high level of currency and proficiency in NVG operations and instrument procedures.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- FAA Commercial and Instrument Airman Certificate - Rotorcraft Helicopter
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
- Host nation language proficiency as per contract requirement; for LATAM countries: Spanish Level 2 in both Listening and Reading (L2/R2)
- Minimum of 1,500 total rotary wing flight hours, including 500 hours of turbine engine time
- NVG qualified with a minimum of 300 hours of NVG experience
- 200 hours of experience as a turbine instructor pilot or check pilot
- Qualification in the UH-60 A/L/M, SH-60 Series, HH-60 Series, or MH-60 series
- FAA Certified Flight Instructor/Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFI/CFII) Certificate or military equivalent
- Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate
- Excellent English language proficiency in both written and verbal communication
This position requires a US Secret Security Clearance.
