Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS), an AAR subsidiary headquartered in Rockledge, Florida, delivers exceptional expeditionary and conventional aviation solutions to the United States Department of State Air Wing.
Role Description:
The WASS Pilot plays a crucial role in crew member training and evaluation, upholding standardization through flight records, AWIS (Aviation Weather Information System) management, and adherence to relevant publications and references. This position involves overseeing flight instruction encompassing aircraft transition training, annual proficiency reviews, and comprehensive flight evaluations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Active participation in the selection and training of new crew members for the program.
- Conducting both academic and practical performance training, administering evaluations to ensure crew proficiency and standardization. Maintaining individual Instructor Authorization Training Files (IATFs) and completing AWIS entries.
- Guaranteeing the integration of all De Havilland Canada DHC-8 Related Crew Members (RCMs) and Non-Related Crew Members (NRCMs) into the Aircrew Training Program (ATP), providing training and evaluations for RCMs and NRCMs on their assigned aircraft.
- Ensuring strict compliance with all Standardization Directives, Aircrew Training Manuals, and ATP requirements.
- Developing individual flight training plans aligned with the organization's mission and the ATP.
- Overseeing the maintenance of crewmember flight records, weight and balance calculations, and risk assessments.
- Monitoring crewmember proficiency during mission planning and flight operations, ensuring adherence to policies and directives.
- Staying abreast of updates and changes to all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation essential to contract operations.
- Training and qualifying crew members for all approved De Havilland Canada DHC-8 missions.
- Fulfilling assigned duties as Pilot, Pilot-in-Command, Standardization Pilot, Air Mission Commander, or Flight Lead.
- Undertaking routine travel within Iraq, other locations outside the Continental United States (CONUS), and within CONUS as required.
- Possessing a valid U.S. Security Clearance is a requirement for this position.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- FAA Commercial and Instrument Airman Certificate with Airplane Multi-Engine Land (MEL) rating.
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
- FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)/Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument (CFII)/Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI).
- Successful completion of an FAA Type Rating Course for the designated aircraft type prior to assignment.
- Minimum 1,500 total fixed-wing flight hours, including 500 hours of turbine engine time and 500 hours of pilot-in-command time.
- 300 hours of turbine engine instructor pilot or check pilot time.
- Unrestricted Type Rating.
- Minimum one (1) year experience managing a flight training program.
OCONUS Requirements:
- Ability to pass a physical screening.
- Passport valid for at least 18 months.
- LATAM positions require Level 2 Spanish proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a U.S. Military Standardization Pilot.
- Previous experience as an instructor or standardization pilot supporting the DoS INL/A program.
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating from the FAA.
