Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS), an AAR subsidiary headquartered in Rockledge, FL, provides exceptional expeditionary and conventional aviation solutions to the US Department of State Air Wing.
Role Description
This position is responsible for conducting crew member training and evaluations, maintaining standardization, and administering related documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct academic and hands-on performance training, administer evaluations to ensure crew proficiency and standardization, maintain individual IATFs, and complete AWIS entries.
- Integrate all DHC-8 RCMs and NRCMs into the ATP, train and evaluate RCMs and NRCMs in their designated aircraft.
- Ensure compliance with all Standardization Directives, Aircrew Training Manuals, and ATP requirements.
- Develop individual flight training plans in support of the organization's mission and ATP.
- Oversee maintenance of crew member flight records, weight and balance calculations, and risk assessments.
- Maintain knowledge of additions and changes to all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation integral to contract operations.
- Train and qualify crew members to fly all DHC-8 approved missions.
- Serve as Pilot, Pilot-in-Command, Instructor Pilot, Air Mission Commander, or Flight Lead as assigned.
- Perform routine OCONUS and CONUS travel as required.
- Maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- FAA Commercial and Instrument Airman’s Certificate Airplane MEL.
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Current FAA Class II Medical certificate.
- FAA CFI/CFII.
- Successful completion of FAA Type Rating Course in the selected type required before assignment.
- 2,500 total fixed wing flight hours, including 1,000 hours of turbine engine time, and 250 hours pilot in command.
- 300 hours turbine engine instructor or check pilot time.
- Unrestricted type rating.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior Instructor Pilot in the US Military and/or support on the DoS INL/A program.
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP).
OCONUS Requirements
- Ability to pass physical screening.
- Passport with 18 months remaining.
- Level 2 Spanish proficiency for LATAM positions.
- Willingness to relocate.
