Fixed Wing (DHC-8) Instructor Pilot
AAR, a leading provider of value-driven aerospace aftermarket solutions, is seeking a qualified and experienced Fixed Wing (DHC-8) Instructor Pilot to join its Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program in Baghdad, Iraq. Role Description
The Fixed Wing (DHC-8) Instructor Pilot is responsible for conducting crew member training and evaluations, along with standardization administration duties, including flight records, AWIS, publications, and references.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts academic and hands-on performance training and administers evaluations to ensure crew member proficiency and standardization of training.
- Maintains individual IATFs and completes AWIS entries.
- Ensures all DHC-8 RCMs and NRCMs are fully integrated into the ATP, training and evaluating them in their designated aircraft.
- Ensures compliance with all Standardization Directives, Aircrew Training Manuals, and ATP requirements.
- Develops individual flight training plans in support of the organization’s mission and ATP.
- Oversees maintenance of crew member flight records, weight and balance calculations, and risk assessments.
- Maintains knowledge of additions and changes to all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation integral to contract operations.
- Trains and qualifies crew members to fly all DHC-8 approved missions.
- Performs assigned duties as Pilot, Pilot-in-Command, Instructor Pilot, Air Mission Commander, or Flight Lead.
- Performs routine OCONUS and CONUS travel as required.
- Maintains a U.S. Security Clearance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- FAA Commercial and Instrument Airman’s Certificate Airplane MEL.
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Current FAA Class II Medical certificate.
- FAA CFI-CFII.
- Successful completion of FAA Type Rating Course in the DHC-8 required before assignment.
- 1500 total fixed wing flight hours, including 500 hours of turbine engine time and 300 hours pilot in command.
- 300 hours turbine engine instructor or check pilot time.
- Unrestricted type rating.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior Instructor Pilot experience in the US Military and/or support on the DoS INL program.
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
