This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic aviation program providing crucial maritime operational support for the Department of State's INLA program in San Jose, Costa Rica.
About the Role:
The selected candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Host Nation's Nationalization Program. After completing a comprehensive B250 qualification training program, the Aviation Instructor Pilot will deploy to San Jose, Costa Rica, and be responsible for:
- Standardization Oversight: Provide guidance and ensure adherence to DoS INL/A's policies and procedures, specifically regarding the Aircrew Training Program.
- Training & Evaluation: Conduct training and evaluations for Host Nation pilots, ensuring a high standard of proficiency.
- Sensor Equipment Expertise: Maintain familiarity with onboard sensor equipment and provide training to both rated and non-rated crew members as required.
- Flight Operations: Plan and execute flights safely and efficiently, taking into account factors such as weather, terrain, weight and balance, and navigation. This includes preflight inspections, passenger briefings, and accurate record-keeping.
- Leadership & Delegation: Supervise and delegate tasks to other crew members while retaining overall responsibility for flight operations.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- FAA Commercial and Instrument Airplane Certificate (MEL)
- FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) / Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) or military equivalent rating
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
- Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate
- Successful completion of the applicable aircraft qualification course
- 1,500 total fixed-wing flight hours, including 500 hours of turbine multi-engine time
- Minimum 300 hours pilot-in-command time
- 300 hours of instructor pilot or check pilot time
- Fluent Native English and Spanish language proficiency
Preferred:
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating
- Previous military fixed-wing flight training qualification or civilian equivalent
- Prior experience as a military pilot and/or participation in the DoS INL/A program
- Qualification on the B-200 or similar series aircraft
