SUMMARY:
Provide rotary wing operational support for the Department of State INL/A program in support of the US Embassy, Iraq. This position is based in Iraq on a 90/30 rotation schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare or supervise preparation of flight plans, considering such factors as altitude, terrain, weather, range, weight, airport facilities and navigation aids
Supervise or accomplish the aircraft preflight inspection and preparation
Determine aircraft weight and balance is within prescribed limits
Ensure maintenance of all aircraft are in compliance set forth by appropriate maintenance manuals, operations directives, FAA compliance directives and contractual readiness rates
Perform operational checks, routine maintenance, and maintenance test flights to ensure the airworthiness of the fleet
Fly both single and multi-ship day, night, and Night Vision Goggle (NVG) missions, primarily under Visual Meteorological Conditions
Maintain NVG currency and Instrument proficiency
Assist as an advisor to the maintenance standardization program
Ensure compliance with all INL/A Operations directives, Aircrew Training Manuals (ATM), and ATP requirements
Responsible for standardization administrative duties, i.e. flight records, AWIS, Reports, publications and references
Supervise the crew on a daily basis
Perform routine OCONUS travel and within CONUS travel as required
Perform other aviation duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/ CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
+ High school diploma or GED
+ FAA Commercial and Instrument Airman’s Certificate Rotorcraft Helicopter
+ FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
+ Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
+ 1,500 total rotary wing flight hours including 500 hours of turbine engine time
+ Night Vision Goggle (NVG) qualified and 300 hours of NVG experience
+ Requires 50 hours of RW maintenance pilot time or prior designation as a military Functional Check Pilot/ Maintenance Test Pilot time
+ Qualification in the applicable aircraft H-60 or equivalent
+ This role requires the employee to be fully vaccinated against COVID
PREFERRED:
Prior military pilot and/or pilot support on the DoS INL/A program.
Documented civil or military maintenance test pilot course completion.
