SUMMARY

Provide rotary wing Maintenance Test Pilot operational support for the Department of State INL/A program in support of a Latin American (LATAM) Host Nation programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Basic Responsibilities:

– Prepare or supervise preparation of flight plans, considering such factors as altitude, terrain, weather, range, weight, airport facilities and navigation aids.

– Supervise or accomplish the aircraft preflight inspection and preparation.

– Determine aircraft weight and balance is within prescribed limits.

– Ensure maintenance of all aircraft are in compliance set forth by appropriate maintenance manuals, operations directives, FAA compliance directives and contractual readiness rates.

– Perform operational checks, routine maintenance, and maintenance test flights to ensure the airworthiness of the fleet.

– Fly both single and multi-ship day, night, and Night Vision Goggle (NVG) missions, primarily under Visual Meteorological Conditions.

– Maintain NVG currency and Instrument proficiency.

– Assist as an advisor to the maintenance standardization program.

– Ensure compliance with all INL/A Operations directives, Aircrew Training Manuals (ATM), and ATP requirements.

– Responsible for standardization administrative duties, i.e. flight records, AWIS, Reports, publications and references.

– Supervise the crew on a daily basis.

– Perform routine OCONUS travel and within CONUS travel as required.

– Perform other aviation duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Required:

High school diploma or GED

– FAA Commercial and Instrument Airmans Certificate Rotorcraft Helicopter.

– FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.

– Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.

– 1,500 total rotary wing flight hours including 500 hours of turbine engine time.

– Night Vision Goggle (NVG) qualified and 300 hours of NVG experience.

– Requires 50 hours of RW maintenance pilot time or prior designation as a military Functional Check Pilot/ Maintenance Test Pilot time.

– Spanish Language and Reading Level 2 qualified (LATAM ONLY)

– As a condition of employment, all candidates must be able to obtain a clearance, pass a physical to deploy, successfully complete a urinalysis and criminal background check and show proof of COVID 19 vaccination

Preferred:

– Documented civil or military maintenance test pilot course completion.

– Prior military pilot and/or pilot support on the DoS INL/A program.

– Qualification in the applicable aircraft UH-1 series or equivalent.
