AAR Corporation has career opportunities for aviation professionals with DHC-8 experience to support our Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program in an OCONUS, austere location. Qualified candidates must be US Citizens able to obtain a security clearance (preference for cleared candidates). Work is estimated to begin in January 2022.

SUMMARY:

Performs routine acceptance test of aircraft following corrective maintenance. Must be proficient in international flight operations and environments: day, night, and IFR conditions. This is a permanent position based in AUAB. Complete fixed wing aircraft (DHC-8) qualification training then travel to AUAB. Provide fixed wing operational support for the Department of State INL/A program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Responsible for all matters pertaining to maintenance operations.

+ Ensures maintenance of all aircraft are in compliance set forth by appropriate maintenance manuals, operations directives, FAA compliance directives and contractual readiness rates.

+ Successfully complete all no-notice flight evaluations and exams in his/her primary aircraft.

+ Remains fully qualified in aircraft and perform as a crew member when necessary.

+ Tests aircraft to determine compliance with specification and operational suitability.

+ Operates models of test aircraft during engineering flight tests, production acceptance, and flight test support through specifically prescribed tests and maneuvers.

+ Coordinates flight operations efforts.

+ Approves cockpit configuration.

+ Conduct demonstration flights with customers, government officials, or other personnel aboard to exhibit aircraft performance, flying qualities and system capabilities.

+ Oversee maintenance operations, test fly and trouble shoot, manage maintenance flow.

+ Performs routine travel OCONUS and within CONUS as required

+ Position requires a U.S. Security clearance.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION Required:

+ High school diploma or equivalent.

+ FAA Commercial and Instrument Airman’s Certificate Airplane MEL.

+ FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.

+ Current FAA Class II Medical certificate.

+ Documented civil or military maintenance test pilot course completion.

+ Successful completion of FAA Type Rating Course in the selected type required before assignment

Preferred:

– FAA ATP rating

– FAA Type rating – FAA CFI/CFII/MEI

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Required:

Required:

+ 1500 total fixed wing flight hours including 500 hours of turbine multi-engine time

+ 250 multi-engine hours pilot in command time.

+ 50 flight hours of FW maintenance pilot time or prior designation as a military Functional Chec :ilot /Maintenance Test pilot.

+ Unrestricted type rating is required and will be obtained before or incident to assignment.

+ As a condition of employment, all candidates must be able to obtain a clearance, pass a physical to deploy, successfully complete a urinalysis and criminal background check and show proof of COVID 19 vaccination

Preferred:

+ Prior US Military FW Transport pilot and/or support on the DoS INL/A program.

+ FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating.
