Special Missions First Officer (Multi-Engine Turbine) – Shannon, Ireland

2Excel Aviation, a leader in specialized aviation solutions, seeks a highly skilled and experienced First Officer to join its expanding Special Missions division. Based at Shannon Airport, this pivotal role will contribute to the delivery of a critical 24/7/365 Fixed-Wing Search and Rescue (SAR) service for the Irish Coast Guard, commencing late 2024. This is not a routine A-to-B operation; the successful candidate will engage in varied and challenging specialist surveillance tasks. Responsibilities:

• Operate as First Officer on a King Air 200 aircraft alongside a Captain and Sensor Operator.
• Contribute to the safe and efficient execution of SAR missions and specialist surveillance tasks for the Irish Coast Guard.

Qualifications:

• Valid Class 1 medical certificate.
• EASA Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) or Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) with Instrument Rating (IR).
• Minimum 250 total flying hours, including at least 150 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC), 50 hours IR, and 5 hours night flying.

Desirable Experience:

• Prior experience in a similar operational environment (military, police, coastguard).
• Proven ability to lead and manage effectively within a forward operating base.
• King Air 200 type rating (training provided, subject to bond conditions).

Compensation and Benefits:

• Competitive base salary of €44,000 per annum, plus shift allowance.

Additional Information:

Right to work in Ireland required. Pre-employment testing (drug & alcohol screening, psychometric testing) mandatory. Initial training may involve work outside of Shannon. For candidates lacking a King Air 200 type rating, training costs (estimated €20,000) will be subject to a two-year bond, decreasing by 25% every six months.
