Captain - Special Missions (Prestwick)

2Excel Aviation Ltd, a leader in specialised and innovative aviation solutions, seeks a talented and experienced Captain for its Special Missions division. This Prestwick-based role is integral to delivering specialist aviation services to government and industry clients, focusing on a new and exciting contract.

About the Role

The Captain will operate the MET B350 aircraft in a multi-pilot environment, flying day and night shifts. Duties include the delivery of specialist surveillance tasks within the UK and neighbouring states, as well as supporting life-saving Search and Rescue (SAR) missions across the UK. The role involves varied and challenging flying, contributing directly to critical operations and the protection of lives. Crews will include a First Officer and a Sensor Operator responsible for mission equipment.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• UK CAA Class 1 medical
• UK CPL (or ATPL) with Instrument Rating (IR)
• Minimum 1500 total flying hours, including:
  • 750 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC)
  • 100 hours Instrument Rating (IR)
  • 100 hours Night flying
• At least 100 hours on King Air Series aircraft (or equivalent, at the discretion of the Director of Flight Operations)
• Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance
• Valid UK Driving Licence

Desirable Experience

• Relevant experience in a similar setting (military, police, coastguard)
• Proven experience in a lead pilot or managerial role within a forward operating base
• Current King Air 350 type rating (training will be provided if not held)
