This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the launch of a new Fixed-Wing Search and Rescue (SAR) service operating 24/7/365 from Shannon Airport, Ireland. Commencing in late 2024, this critical service will be delivered on behalf of the Irish Coast Guard.
The Captain will play a pivotal role in executing specialist surveillance tasks for the Irish Coast Guard. This dynamic position offers varied and challenging flying experiences far beyond standard aviation operations.
Pilots will operate the King Air 200 in a multi-crew environment (Captain and First Officer) alongside a dedicated Sensor Operator managing mission equipment. The role involves day and night shifts, requiring flexibility and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

In addition to flight duties, 2Excel offers qualified individuals the opportunity to take on nominated postholder positions, such as Director of Flight Operations, Crew Training, Safety, and Compliance. These positions provide further career development and attractive remuneration packages.

Successful applicants without a current King Air 200 type rating will receive training (estimated cost: €20,000) subject to a two-year bond. This bond is repayable upon leaving 2Excel before the two-year period concludes, with the value decreasing by 25% every six months.
